Book Review: Schloss Valkuriz ( #AtoZChallenge )

As a A-Z challenge is reviews based on the letter of the first name of the author. It seems I don't have a stockpile of reviews waiting for today's letter.

Summary from GoodReads: Embrace the beauty of the rose and discover the mystery that surrounds it.....
A chance encounter with the handsome Lord Kessler leads Iara to the magnificent castle of Schloss Valkuriz where she finds a new and exciting romance. Haunted by recurring dreams of past sorrows in which she relives the episode of her last encounter with her lover, Iara learns the truth behind a dark secret buried in the past. A secret protected by the immortal beauty of a sacred rose whose very essence is preserved by the faithfulness of a promise now forgotten. A promise which, if broken, would lead to horrifying consequences.
About the Author:
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Felicia N. Cheung is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Human Resources at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada. She earned an MBA degree at the Rochester Institute of Technology, United States in August 2009 and a BA honors degree in Medieval Studies at the University of Waterloo, Canada in October 2007. Besides writing, she enjoys playing the guitar and spending quality time with family and friends.

My Review: I have to say this book was unique to me. It goes back and forth between now and past dreams. Although, not confusing, you do need to pay attention to the changes in time.

I was drawn into this book after the first few pages. Romance and mystery carry this book and a mix of past and present in the form of cause and affect unfold. Not a long book, I did read it all at one time. I did find myself wishing it was longer. I wanted to get to know the characters more than you can in 138 pages.

Pick this one up for a quick weekend read that will keep your attention.

Pages: 138

Review copy of this book provided by the author/publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review. In no way did the provision of the book affect the outcome of my review.
